Lamonte Android Set Up

Setting up your Lamonte android app to communicate with your device for the first time is a simple task. The following set up guide will help you with getting started and on  your journey with Lamonte. To make matters simple, we have activated the global SIM card for you and inserted it into the bag tracker. Once activated, you will be able to travel anywhere in the world with global tracking without the global costs. 

Quick Set Up Guide

1. Download the Lamonte London app from Google Play Store (App Name Lamonte London).

2. Once Installed open the app and register your account. Note: You will have to register your Name, Email Address and Password. If you already have an account, you do not need to register the bag again.

3. Give your bag a name eg. My Work Bag.

4. Enter the Unique IMEI Number for the device into the correct field. Note: The IMEI Number for the device can be found in the interior zip pocket of the bag on a label.

5. Save the details by pressing the blue disc icon on the bottom right of the screen.

6. You can set the Geo-Fence (invisible perimeter around the bag) to the distance that suits you. This distance can be between 5 - 1000 metres.

Note: Once the app has been set up, ensure the bag is taken out into the open where it can pick up a GPS signal. Please check battery life as bag may require charging (See below)

1. Charging

Your device is powered by a rechargeable, standard Li-Ion battery. A USB charger (charging head and USB cable) is included with the device for charging the battery from any standard outlet. The battery comes partially charged. You can use the device while charging. 

You should dry the inside of the charging port before inserting a power connector to charge your device. If the charging port is not fully dry, your device may operate abnormally. For example, it may charge more slowly or overheat

1. Insert the USB cable into the USB charger/ Accessory port. Caution: Use only charging devices and batteries approved by Lamonte. These accessories are designed for your device to maximize battery life. Using other accessories may invalidate your warranty and may cause damage.

2. Connect the USB cable to the charging head, which can be found under a small flap on the side of the bag. The device side is marked with an L. Plug the charging head into a standard outlet.

3. Unplug the charging head from the outlet and remove the USB cable from the device when charging is complete. Note: This device is not compatible with wireless charging 

When to Charge the Battery

When the battery is low and only a few minutes of operation remain, the app sends a warning notification at regular intervals. In this condition, your device conserves its remaining battery power. When the battery level becomes too low, the device automatically turns off. For a quick check of your battery level: View the battery charge indicator located in the top right corner of your app display. A solid green colour indicates a full charge. A green light illuminates when the device is fully charged.

2. Start Using Your Device Tracking - Turn Your Device Tracking On or Off

The instructions below explain how to turn your device tracking on or off. 

To turn the device tracking ON:

1. Swipe the icon beside the battery icon on the Lamonte app to the right. This will then activate the tracking and shows the word SET.

2. You will then receive notifications to activate Bluetooth and Location Services. Please ensure both are activated. Once this has been done, you will receive a notification informing you that the device has now connected with the app. The bag on the app you wish to track will turn green.

3. Press the Search (Magnifying Glass) icon beside the power button on the top right of the app and this will reveal your bag. Note: If you have multiple bags on the app, you must ensure that the correct bag is selected by checking the search bag button.

4. Press the green bag you want to track and this will bring up the map screen showing your location and that of the bag.

To turn the device tracking OFF:

1. Swipe the tracking icon to the left and this deactivates tracking. Note: If you are travelling on an aeroplane it is imperative that you follow BAA instructions on electronic devices, swiping left will turn off tracking and stop sending data which ensures that any instruments on an areoplane are not interferred with.

3. SIM card for subscribing to a cellular network for GPS

You are provided with a plug-in data SIM card. For simplicity we have activated the SIM card for you, your SIM card is loaded with your data subscription details and other global tracking features. Warning: Please be careful when handling the SIM card to avoid damaging it. Keep all SIM cards out of reach of small children.

SIM Card Insert / Removal

1. Locate the SIM slot in the bag. This can be found on the left side of the inside of the bag.

2. Place the SIM card into the device and ensure there is a clicking sound. 

Caution: Exercise care if removing to eject the internal SIM card. 

3. It can take a few minutes for the device to pick up a satellite signal. Once this has been located, the bag will be shown on the app at your current location.

Note: There is a yearly subscription charge for Global Tracking and Map Services. This is a one time yearly fee of £55.00 and ensures you continue to benefit from our services wherever you are in the world. There are no hidden or roaming costs.
